Put the Pages in the Right Order
Pages end up out of order for ordinary reasons: a double-sided document scanned in two passes so all the fronts come before all the backs, an appendix that belongs at the front, a signature page that arrived last and got stapled on the end. Rebuilding the file by exporting each page and reassembling it is far more work than the problem deserves.
Here the document appears as a grid of pages. Drag one to a new position and the rest shift to make room. When the order looks right, save, and you get a PDF with the same pages in the sequence you set.
How to Reorder Pages in a PDF
Reordering is done entirely by dragging, and the grid always shows the order you will get.
- Add your document using the box above. Pages appear as a grid of thumbnails, numbered in their current order.
- Drag any page and drop it where you want it. The pages between the old and new position shift along to make room.
- Watch the numbers, which update as you go. What you see in the grid is exactly the sequence the saved file will have.
- Work in small moves for long documents, dragging a page a short distance several times is easier to control than one long drag across a scrolling grid.
- Press Save new order when the grid matches what you want.
- Download the result. Your original is untouched, so you can reload it and start again if the order is not right.
Only the Order Changes
Pages are copied into a new document in your chosen sequence, so everything on them survives intact. Text stays selectable and searchable, links keep working, images and fonts are carried over rather than redrawn, and page sizes and rotations travel with the page they belong to. Nothing is re-rendered, so a reordered file is visually identical to the original page for page.
What is not preserved is document-level structure. Bookmarks and form fields belong to the document rather than to individual pages, and an outline built around the old sequence would point at the wrong places after a reorder in any case, so they are not carried into the result.
Which Tool for Which Job
Reordering is one of several page operations, and it is easy to reach for the wrong one. This is the division of labour.

These combine well. To interleave two scanned halves, merge them first and reorder here; to pull one section out and rearrange it, split first and then organize the much shorter result.
Working With Long Documents
Thumbnails render progressively, one page at a time, so a long file becomes usable before every page has finished drawing. A page that has not rendered yet still shows its number and can still be dragged, the picture is a convenience, not a prerequisite.
Drag and drop stops being the fastest method somewhere around a few dozen pages. If you are rearranging a hundred-page document, it is usually quicker to extract the groups you need with Split PDF and merge them back in the right order, which turns a hundred drags into a handful of operations.
Rearranging Without Sending the Document Anywhere
The documents that need reordering are typically the ones that have just been scanned: contracts, application packs, medical files, a stack of receipts for an expense claim. They are complete and they are usually personal, and there is no good reason for a page-shuffling operation to involve a server at all.
It does not here. The file is read into your browser, the pages are reassembled in the order you set, and the result is handed straight back as a download. Nothing is transmitted, nothing is stored, and closing the tab discards everything. The tool works with no network connection, which is the simplest proof of that.
